What is the MayFly ethos?

We are passionate about making a living doing something we love. We love to make new things out of old things for a new life.(Recycle, re-use, upcycle, reduce waste.) We love to be challenged and to provide you with a choice of high quality Irish made gift items and accessories. We want to provide an alternative to high street, big chain, soul-less same-same that we see too much of.

We do pick up other handmade items from around the world in our travels. These we buy directly from the maker whenever possible. Fair trade is important to us.

If you are looking for a special gift, want to support a small Irish run business, want to commission something unique, you've come to the right place.

Shipping option, including €5 Flat Rate


We now offer a€5 Flat Rate fee for shipping within the Republic of Ireland. This price is valid for up to 30 kilos, so shop to your heart's content! We will need your phone number at checkout as these orders will be shipped by GLS couriers.

If you are outside Ireland, we've estimated the shipping costs. If our estimation is too low or too high by more than €3 we will refund the difference to you in full. If you are interested in buying multiple items, the shipping rates could be less as well, so don't be shy about asking for a shipping quote if it looks too high, we will double check.

We package your chosen items with the utmost of care, to ensure your purchase is not damaged during transit. At times we may recycle packaging, to avoid unnecessary waste.
You will be notified by email when your package has been dispatched.
We can ship worldwide and are happy to do so. All items will be shipped by An Post, and registered when requested or when the order exceeds €100.00.

PLEASE NOTE- if you are not based in Ireland, postage costs do not include possible custom charges for your country. Please contact your customs office for further information.
Please note as well, that all transactions made via this website are subject to Irish law. Your statutory rights are not affected. By placing an order with MayFly you agree to the terms and conditions stated on the MayFly website.

Returns/ Exchanges

We are here to help and to make the buying of one of a kind art pieces a fun and simple procedure. We understand how difficult it can be to buy from the internet, and your satisfaction is very important to us. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase (for whatever reason)- YOU CAN RETURN THE ITEM/S WITHIN 7 DAYS OF RECEIPT for a refund or exchange. Please note that we do not refund postage charges.
As we’re sure you can understand, bespoke pieces/ items made to order cannot be refunded or exchanged unless faulty, as these pieces are made to the customer’s own specifications and may not be suitable for resale on the website.
In the unlikely event of a breakage due to workmanship, you may exchange the item within 30 days of purchase, or we will repair your item free of charge within six months of receipt. After 6 months, a small fee will be charged for the repair. If your item is damaged, not due to my workmanship (through misuse, accident, or neglect) a small fee will be charged to cover the cost of the materials and time spent on the repair. Please contact us beforehand to let us know what’s wrong with the item and for a quote.
For your refund to be processed as quickly as possible, please follow these steps:
- Before returning the item, please notify me via the contact form or by email, explaining the fault.
- When packaging the item, please make sure you do so with care, in a box or wrapped well in bubble film, as no refunds can be issued for items damaged in transit.
- We will notify you when we have received the item and have processed the refund. Please note that all refunds will be made in the same way as the original payment.

Payment options

We safely and securely accept all major forms of payment. We are happy to offer you these options: pay by cash, money/ bank transfer, PayPal, credit card- VISA, MasterCard or by Laser.

Please feel free to call for any special requests or inquiries, such as custom orders, deadlines, and specific delivery information. Our Privacy Notice

Privacy Notice
Your satisfaction is very important to us, and that includes your privacy.
We do not distribute your personal information to third parties for any purpose. We appreciate your business and are committed to protect your personal information as we would our own. Any information you supply will only be used for processing your order. You may also join our mailing list to receive my newsletter, and the very occasional promotion. (which you can, of course opt out of at any time.) We will not sell or misuse your personal details in any way.
We use the secure Ulster Bank card processing system to process your credit/debit cards. For telephone orders, we do not retain your card details. These are destroyed once the order is completed.
